As a certified writing teacher, I guide students through the process of brainstorming, outlining, and writing strong topic sentences. Then, they learn to use transitions, choose precise words, and support their ideas with relevant details. Finally, they refine their work through applying editing and proofreading strategies.

Building Strong Writers, One Word at a Time!
Intro to Writing: Level 1 for Building Strong Foundations
In this beginner writing course, students will first learn how to brainstorm and create an outline with a topic sentence, supporting details, and a conclusion. After mastering these basic writing skills, they will use transitional words for smooth, logical flow and develop strategies for editing and proofreading to produce polished writing.
As a certified writing teacher, I will assess their writing assignments using the BC Performance Standards rubric.
This course is suitable for beginner writers who already have the basics of writing sentences. These skills are typically at the grade 3 / 4 level.

Writing Mastery: Level 2 for Young Learners
This writing course helps students develop essential skills by elaborating on ideas with examples, using varied sentence structures, and incorporating advanced transition words. They will learn to adjust their writing for different purposes, maintain paragraph unity, and use a thesaurus for precise vocabulary. Finally, students will practice editing and proofreading strategies.
As a certified writing teacher, I will be marking their writing assignments using the BC Performance Standards rubric.
Suitable for students who are already writing well-organized paragraphs. These skills are typically at the grade 4 – 6 level.

From Ideas to Essays: A Step-by-Step Guide
This essay writing course teaches students how to organize their ideas into clear paragraphs with an introduction, body, and conclusion, while using strong thesis statements and supporting their ideas with details.
